One mountain. One night. Fifteen places.
4–5 September 2026 | Stellenboschberg
There are few better ways to welcome spring than from the top of a mountain.
On Friday 4 September, Mountain Merchant is heading up Stellenboschberg for a night under the stars.
We’ll hike up to the summit in the late afternoon, set up camp and spend the evening together under the stars.
Then we’ll wake with the sun, make coffee, share some rusks, and watch the spring light arrive across the Stellenbosch.
Then we’ll pack up and hike back down into Stellenbosch, before heading into town for breakfast together.
There is no entry fee.
There is, however, only room for 15 people. – So fill out the application below, and let us know just how badly you want in on this.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Friday 4 September
17:00 — Meet at Coetzenburg
We’ll make our way up Stellenboschberg, taking our time and enjoying the trail rather than rushing it.
Once we reach the summit, we’ll settle in for the night.
Mountain Merchant will provide:
- Dinner
- Coffee
- Rusks
- Sleepingbags/Bedrolls can be arranged if required (contact us for rates)
Then we sleep beneath the stars.
SATURDAY 5 SEPTEMBER
Sunrise on the mountain
Wake up above Stellenbosch, make a coffee and watch the first light come across the landscape.
After sunrise and breakfast on the mountain, we’ll pack up and make our way back down.
Once we’re back in town, we’ll head for breakfast together.
Breakfast will be for each participant’s own account.
HOW TO JOIN
We have 15 places available.
Rather than simply opening bookings, we’re asking people to apply to join us.
Tell us a little about yourself, why you’d like to be part of the Spring Summit, and what the mountains mean to you.
We’ll then select 15 people to join us.
There is no charge to apply and no charge to attend.
